Tampa Fishing Charter Latest Report:
Trout Fishing:
While on my last Tampa Fishing Charter, the trout bite was pretty good. The water temperature started to creep up to 66-68 degrees after the last cold front so I decided to go check a out some deep water bait spots in Tampa Bay. After filling the live well we headed to the first trout spot. The fish were plentiful, however they were all smaller than the slot size. Spot number two was a different story. We caught plenty of trout up to 25″.
Snook Fishing:
We started to see a lot of snook activity closer to the shore so we moved in for the kill. It did not take long to start catching snook. They were all on the small to medium size, but very fun to catch. When it was all said and done, we probably caught 30-35 snook. With the water temperature steady climbing, expect the snook bite to stay steady and potentially get better.
ECO Tour:
After catching plenty of fish, we decided to head to the Getaway for lunch. During the cooler months, it is always a good possibility to see manatees. We were not disappointed. My client (Steve Broderek) had his Boss Stephane from France who had never caught a snook and had never seen a manatee. This was all changed on the same day during our recent Tampa Fishing Charter.
Scouting Mission:
I had some time off recently, so I decided to do a little scouting for bait, fish, etc. The mission paid off as I found bait in a few different places and lots of snook and trout moving into their favorite spring spots. Spring is my favorite time of the year and the fishing is starting to warm up nicely. I expect the snook fishing to explode in the next week or so.
