Tampa Fishing Charter Latest Report:

Snook Fishing:

During my last three Tampa Fishing Charters this past week, the snook fishing has been phenomenal. I have had the opportunity to fish all ranges of the tide and have caught plenty of snook every day.  On the low incoming tides the fish have been concentrated in large sandy holes.  As the tide rises, the fish start moving closer to the mangroves.  Over the weekend, we fishing at least 50 yards from the shore and had great success.

Nathan Ricard with a good snook

We have also been catching a few snook close to the keeper range.  That is a good thing with snook season opening soon.  We do not keep very many fish; however, they are a very tasty fish. Remember that when season is open, snook have to be between 28″ and 33″.

Redfish and Trout Fishing:

We have not been very fortunate this year with catching redfish. However, I was able to get a few nice reds over the weekend on the extreme low tides.  We were working an are where we normally catch snook and next thing you know we had a few nice reds to the boat.  The smaller fish were around 22″ and we topped it off with a 28″ fish.  I was a pleasure to finally see a few reds in Tampa Bay.  As usual, we managed to catch a few trout this weekend as well, but the main attraction was snook.
