Tampa Fishing Charters latest report:

Snook Fishing:

Here we are in the middle of December and during my last Fishing Charter, the snook fishing was phenomenal. I recently had the opportunity to fish with Meg and Mike from Ben’s Tuneup and Sake bar in Ashville, NC.  This was one of the best fishing trips I have ever had.  Meg and Mike were so much fun and made my day extremely easy.

We met at about 8:45am and headed straight to the snook spot.  With the water temperature still holding at 71 degrees and a strong outgoing tide, I was pretty confident that the snook would be active. We immediately started catching fish and the action did not slow down for at least two hours.  They tide finally started to get a little too shallow so we decided to move to another spot.

Eco Tour:

As we were leaving the snook spot, I noticed a group of about 20 manatees.  We decided to stop and watch them for a little while.  They were just swimming all around the boat.  I believe my clients had more fun watching the manatees than catch over 40 snook.

Trout Fishing:

For our last fishing spot, we hit a hot Tampa Bay trout hole.  The trout were a little smaller this day than usual, but very plentiful.  We ended up catch about 15 trout and also a few nice snook.

To end the day, we visited the Getaway for a nice lunch.  You can never go wrong with the Getaway.

Side Note:

On a side note, Tampa Bay will have a busy football week coming up with the Outback Bowl and the National Championship Game being held at Raymond James Stadium.  Looking forward to good weather and great fishing for the next couple of weeks.  Even though my team is not playing in either of these games, I have to say that I hope Florida wins the Outback Bowl and Alabama wins the National Championship.
