Snook Fishing:

During recent Snook Fishing Charters, the bite has been absolutely incredible.  On average we have been catching between 20-30 snook every trip.  Most fish have been averaging in the 25″ range with a few slot fish and a few oversize fish being caught.  During a trip this past Tuesday, we caught a beautiful 35″ snook on light tackle.  It ended up being Jay Hill’s biggest snook he ever caught.

I also had the opportunity to fish with my good friend Joe Marshburn and his family.  Joe and his family had an absolutely great time and caught lots of fish.

Lastly, Ron and Kris Kruder fishing with me on Monday and we caught approximately 25 snook.  Ron bet me five dollars that I could not catch a snook in three casts (bad bet).  I ended up catching two snook in three casts.

Bait has been pretty easy every morning and the snook fishing has been outstanding.  Every mangrove point, oyster bar, and creek are holding great numbers of fish.

Trout Fishing:

Even though the Snook Fishing Charters have been great, the trout fishing has been pretty good.  With summer on its way, be sure to fish all the deeper flats around Tampa Bay.  Change tactics and go to a 1/4 ounce jig head with any type of plastic bait for the trout.  Most fish have been on the smaller side, but we did win the trout division during the RIPA tournament held out of The Getaway this past Friday.  We had a good chance of winning the entire event; however we lost a giant snook first thing in the morning and then could not get a redfish to eat out baits.
